LEGIO OSTIENSIS RY
Legio Ostiensis ry, or Legio, is the student association for those studying specialized fields of legal expertise within the University of Eastern Finland's Law School's social sciences department.A student association brings together students of the same academic field: it focuses on student advocacy and offers various activities to balance studies, such as events and sports. You can become a member if you are studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Administrative Sciences (B.Sc./M.Sc. or HTK/HTM) or are enrolled in an international Master's programme.
The University of Eastern Finland provides legal expert training in several legal specialties, which lead to the Bachelor of Administrative Sciences (B.Sc.) and the Master of Administrative Sciences (MScA).
The education has been oriented through majors to those areas of expertise that are currently in demand on the job market. By choosing a major the students can engross themselves in their chosen field of law more broadly than through the more traditional law degrees. You can choose from eight majors: administrative law, civil law, criminal- and procedural law and criminal research, environmental law European law, financial law, legislative research, and welfare law.
