Why should you join Legio?

Legio Ostiensis ry is a student association for students that study at the University of Eastern Finland, at the Faculty of Law with the degree in Administrative Sciences, Bachelor or Master (M.Sc. (Admin.)), or the international Master's Degree on Environmental Policy and Law. Exchange students are also welcome to join Legio but we also offer a cheaper event pass for one semester that gives you only an access to Legio events.

Legio pursues the interests of its members as part of the university community and offers different activities along with studies. Legio is a vibrant organization and we organize a lot of different events and leisure events. Every autumn Legio meets for an annual celebration celebrating the past year of our organization, enjoying good food, and great company. Legio's tradition has also been to organize a business visit to Helsinki every spring in cooperation with Judica Ry. 

Our membership benefits are also open for our supporting members (excluding overalls), unless said otherwise. Events are also open for all of our members. The event pass that Legio offers includes access to Legio's events but it is not a membership.

Student advocacy

Student advocacy in the University, Student Union, and towards national organizations.

Liikunta

Legio's, Judica's, and Optimi's joint sports turn every tuesday with the Sykettä sports sticker (from ISYY). 

Student overalls

The right to Legio's wine red student overalls. This right is reserved only to full members.

Merbership prices

Reduced prices for members, for example in events.

Library

You have the access to the library in Legio's office.

Ilona

With the Legio sticker, you have free admission to the night club Ilona before 24.00 (excluding special nights).

Kerubi

When Legio organizes a party in Kerubi, you have free admissions as a Legio member.

Manipulus

The possibility to have one's texts published in the Manipulus magazine and blog of the subject association. Reporters are always needed!

Gradun julkaisu

HOW YOU JOIN AS AN ACTUAL MEMBER

  1. Fill out the membership application via the link below
  2. Pay 40 € membership fee to the following bank account: FI08 5770 0520 5939 45 with the reference number 1012
  3. By joining, you accept our data protection policy, so please familiarize yourself with it before handing over your personal information.

HOW YOU JOIN AS A SUPPORTER MEMBER

Students other than law majors (for example, degree-seeking Open University students) can apply for supporter membership with a written request together with the membership application, which is addressed to the Legio's board. Otherwise, the same instructions as for joining as an actual member.
